With understaffed orphanages in China, babies don't get picked up and held as much as they need. Lying in a crib just isn't stimulating. Walkers are available in many cases when the children are old enough, but bouncy seats cannot be purchased in China. Bouncy seats enable the nannies to get babies out of their cribs and help them receive extra stimulation. This helps promote fine and gross motor skills, as well as visual stimulation.

Many orphanages in China use wooden cribs with very low sides. These cribs have such low sides that some nannies tie the children in to make sure they don't fall out and hurt themselves. With the pollution problems in many areas of China, lead and other contaminants soak into the wood, which many times is already painted with lead-based paint, causing health problems when children teethe on the side of the cribs. Angel Covers is committed to
removing wooden cribs from the orphanages in China and replacing them with stainless steel cribs. For $50 we can purchase a new stainless steel crib and have it shipped to an orphanage.

| Nutrition |
|
It costs so little to feed a baby in an orphanage in China or to provide vitamin supplements to insure they receive adequate nutrition. However, the orphanages have to stretch their dollars so far that babies often don't get enough to eat; just enough to survive. For $10 you can supplement a baby's diet for a month to make sure she has enough to eat. For $10 orphanages can be provided with children and infant vitamins to last a month.

| Mama's Wish |

In the Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures of the QingHai province it is very difficult for many girls to have the opportunity to attend high school and college. One group of exceptional girls has the opportunity to attend high school and in some instances college. These girls come from different backgrounds, but the one thing they all have in common is that they come from extreme poverty. Sponsorship of these girls keeps them in school and helps them to achieve their potential. In some cases the girls are the first from their village to attend high school. These girls are fullfilling the wish that every mother has for their daughter to receive an education.

| Foster Care |
|
Many children in orphanages need specialized medical care. Surgery can correct these medical needs, but the orphanages are not always staffed to provide the one-on-one care these children require following surgery. Foster families fill this need and provide the children with a loving home.

| Kindergarten |

Children in orphanages are not guaranteed an education. Many orphans do not get to go to kindergarten due to lack of resources, or physical disabilities that kindergartens do not have the ability to handle. For $10 a month, a child can be sent to kindergarten. Angel Covers is working to help Chinese children receive an education and prepare them for a future when they can no longer stay at the orphanage. Additionally, Angel Covers sponsors teens in China who want to attend college.
