Our clinical team is dedicated to providing vital healthcare in a low resource setting.
In rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa, it can be very challenging to recruit and retain dedicated and trained healthcare workers. The pay is often lower, and health universities are concentrated in urban areas, creating a natural job pipeline. Furthermore, rural areas present more challenges than urban areas. For example, access to clean water and sanitation may be limited, and there may be inconsistent electricity and internet. All of these factors make living and working in rural regions difficult. As a result, there is a lack of skilled healthcare workers in rural regions of sub-Saharan Africa. Without skilled workers, overall trust in the healthcare system diminishes, and many community members choose to seek care from traditional healers who may not follow trusted medical practices.
Despite the barriers to hiring rural staff equipped and trained in rural healthcare, Angel Covers has a credentialed dedicated team, with the lead clinician, Fentra “Julius” Sakong, specializing in pediatric and maternal health. While retaining healthcare workers in rural regions is challenging, this team is passionate about providing health services for this community.
